This is a note of a temporary expression of concern related to the published case report, “Spontaneous splenic artery rupture in a patient with an unclassified malignant spindle cell tumor of the spleen: report of a case”1.

This article went through several iterations before the article was accepted for publication. A subsequent authorship dispute including violation of intellectual property has caused the Journal to conduct an investigation into the matter in conjunction with Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

This expression of concern will remain appended to this article until the investigation has reached its conclusion and a definitive plan of action is decided.
