Education and Training Institute of Indonesian National Police Strengthens Collaboration with UNS

UNS – The Indonesian National Police Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat Polri) made an official visit to Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta on Thursday (26/9/2024) in Meeting Room 1 of the Dr. Prakosa Building. This visit aimed to foster closer cooperation between the two institutions to enhance the quality of education and training for human resources within the police force.

The delegation from Lemdiklat Polri was led by Police Brigadier General Dr. Susilo Teguh Raharjo, M.Si., Head of the Bureau of Education and Training, accompanied by Senior Policy Analyst in Education and Training, Police Chief Commissioner Endrastiawan Setyowibowo, S.I.K., M.H.; Head of Domestic Cooperation of Lemdiklat Polri, Police Adjunct Chief Commissioner (AKBP) Danur Lieantara, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si.; and Deputy Chief of Surakarta Police, Police Adjunct Chief Commissioner (AKBP) Catur Cahyono Wibowo, S.I.K., M.H. The Lemdiklat Polri team was warmly received by UNS’s Director of Planning, Cooperation, Internationalization, and Reputation Directorate, Ibrahim Fatwa Wijaya, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., along with the Secretary of the Directorate, Iwan Wisnu Anggono, S.S., M.Si.

In his remarks, Ibrahim Fatwa Wijaya, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D.  emphasized that this visit marks an important step toward creating synergy between the police force and higher education, which will facilitate various future academic and training activities.

Ibrahim expressed optimism that this collaboration would make a significant contribution to improving education quality and public service. “We are confident that this synergy will lead to innovative programs that benefit society. UNS fully supports the development of Polri personnel’s professionalism through academic programs and research,” he stated.

Brigadier General Susilo Teguh Raharjo highlighted the importance of collaboration between the Indonesian National Police and academic institutions in creating training programs that meet public needs.

“We at Lemdiklat Polri are pleased with the warm welcome from UNS leadership. We understand that police officers need various avenues to enhance their knowledge and professionalism. UNS, with its wide range of academic experts, is a key source of knowledge. Lemdiklat Polri oversees 58 education units across the provinces, with two institutions equivalent to higher education: the Police Academy and the Indonesia Science Police College,” Brigadier General Susilo explained.

Lemdiklat Polri offers opportunities for all police officers to further their education. “They can continue their studies at universities that have partnerships with Lemdiklat Polri, including UNS,” he added.

Lemdiklat Polri is ready to collaborate with UNS in academic, research, and community service areas.

The event culminated with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Lemdiklat Polri and UNS. This MoU covers cooperation in research, curriculum development, and joint training to enhance the competencies of the national police officers.
