Correction: Management of Petrous Bone Cholesteatoma: The Gruppo Otologico Experience

In this article, the following errors were identified and corrected as below.

In Abstract, the sentence “The commonest degree of paresis noted was HB-III (18%) followed by HB-VI (5%)” should be “The commonest degree of paresis noted was HB-III (18%) followed by HB-IV (5%)”.

In Introduction, paragraph 4, PBCs represent a diagnostic and therapeutic lesion due to facts such as the rarity of these lesions, the asymptomatic slow-growing nature of the pathology, its complex anatomic location in the skull base, proximity to critical neurovascular structures, and a tendency to recur [1, 4, 11–13]. Should be “PBCs represent a diagnostic and therapeutic challenges due to facts such as the rarity of these lesions, the asymptomatic slow-growing nature of the pathology, its complex anatomic location in the skull base, proximity to critical neurovascular structures, and a tendency to recur[1, 4, 11–13]” .

In the Result, the sentence “The commonest degree of paresis noted was HB-III (18%) followed by HB-VI (5%)”. Should be “The commonest degree of paresis noted was HB-III (18%) followed by HB-IV (5%)”.

In Discussion, under sub heading “Management of the facial nerve”, the sentence “The best achievable out come after a facial nerve is HB-III [29–31]”. should be “The best achievable outcome after a facial nerve is once cut is HB-III [29–31]”.

The wrong figure appeared as Fig. 4; the Fig. 4 should have appeared as shown below.
