Reply: The clinical outcome of COVID‐19 infection in patients with a history of thyroid cancer: A nationwide study

We read with great interest the research article of Sahin et al, who concluded that patients with thyroid cancer are not at higher risk of mortality and morbidity from COVID-19 infection compared with patients without a previous history of thyroid cancer [1]. We appreciate the authors' effort in providing more understanding in this particular topic as the existing data is scarce. Despite their interesting findings, the conclusion of the study sounds counter-intuitive as they contradict what have been previously published about the association between cancer in general and increased risk of morbidity and mortality from COVID-19 infection [2,3].
