UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr. M.Si., expressed confidence that UNS’s achievements will continue to grow with the addition of new professors. He conveyed this optimism during his remarks at the inauguration of five new UNS professors at the G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium on Friday (20/12/2024).
These five professors, representing various fields of expertise, are part of the 29 professors inaugurated during the professorial inauguration week, which took place from Monday (16/12/2024) to Friday (20/12/2024).
“Alhamdulillah, in addition to the 29 professors inaugurated this week, there are 29 more UNS professor candidates awaiting their inauguration schedule. We plan to hold the second professorial inauguration week at the end of January or early February 2025,” Prof. Hartono announced.
He emphasized UNS’s commitment to excellence in education, research, and community service. “We are increasingly optimistic that UNS’s achievements will continue to rise both nationally and internationally, locally and globally. We hope UNS will make greater contributions in addressing various issues facing society, the nation, and the state,” he added.
Prof. Hartono extended his highest appreciation to the newly inaugurated professors for their dedication, commitment, tireless efforts, and hard work in achieving the highest academic functional position. He reminded them that being a professor is merely a personal achievement and a responsibility to advance science, education, and national development.
“This inauguration is a source of pride for the professors, their families, and the entire UNS academic community. I encourage all members of the UNS community to use this moment as inspiration and motivation to enhance the quality of education, research, and innovation at UNS,” he urged.
“To the newly inaugurated professors, I hope this achievement marks the beginning of even greater contributions to UNS, society, the nation, and the state. May it bring blessings to all of us,” Prof. Hartono concluded.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the UNS Professorial Council, Prof. Drs. Suranto Tjiptowibisono, M.Sc., Ph.D., reminded the new professors to continue contributing to UNS and the nation. “We hope you will keep creating and contributing to advancing UNS and the Republic of Indonesia,” he stated.
The five professors inaugurated on Friday (20/12/2024) include Prof. Ir. Ary Setyawan, M.Sc., Ph.D., who became the 30th professor at the Faculty of Engineering (FT) and the 327th at UNS. He was inaugurated as a professor in the field of Road Construction Science, delivering an inaugural speech titled “Technological Innovation for Sustainable Road Development.”
Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwi Ardiana Setyawardhani, S.T., M.T. was inaugurated as the 31st professor at the Faculty of Engineering (FT) and the 328th at UNS. She was appointed as a professor in the field of Biorefinery Science, delivering an inaugural speech titled “The Role of Vegetable Oil-Based Chemical Industries in Promoting National Food and Energy Independence.”
Prof. Dr. Wiharto, S.T., M.Kom. was inaugurated as the 2nd professor at the Faculty of Technology and Data Science (FTISD) and the 329th at UNS. He was appointed as a professor in the field of Biomedical Computation (FTISD), delivering an inaugural speech titled “Biomedical Data Computation Based on Explainable Artificial Intelligence.”
Prof. Dr. Winarno, S.Pd., M.Si. was inaugurated as the 87th professor at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and the 330th at UNS. He was appointed as a professor in the field of Civic Education Assessment, delivering an inaugural speech titled “Integration of Pancasila in Civic Education as an Effort to Foster Character-Building among Indonesian Citizens.”
Prof. Dr. Suharno, S.T., M.T. was inaugurated as the 88th professor at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and the 331st at UNS. He was appointed as a professor in the field of Vocational Education, delivering an inaugural speech titled “Sustainable Development of Vocational Education as an Effort to Prepare Adaptive Workforce for Indonesia Emas 2045.”
