Third molar extraction can cause moderate to severe pain. Viminol is a drug whose properties indicate it for post-traumatic pain control, with the advantage of not having adverse effects described in the literature. The aim here is to present a comparison between the analgesic effect of Viminol with Naproxen in third molar extractions, in order to observe its analgesic efficacy when administered preventively and preemptively. Two case reports are described in which extractions of included and partially included third molars were performed, with prescription of Viminol 70 mg and Naproxen 500 mg. Naproxen showed rapid onset of action and long effect in postoperative (preventive) analgesia compared to Viminol. Better analgesic efficacy was observed in preemptive approach of Viminol compared to Naproxen.
