Unusual Presentation of a DFSP Mimicking Malignancy of the Parotid Gland: A Diagnostic Enigma and its Management

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is one of the rare cutaneous malignancies that has seldom been reported in the head and neck region. When present in the parotid region, DFSP may often be confused for the malignancy of the parotid gland. It is extremely important to have precise preoperative assessment in order to plan the best possible treatment with minimal morbidity. The objective of the current clinical paper is to describe the diagnostic dilemma and management strategy of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans presenting as a pre auricular swelling mimicking a parotid malignancy.
