UNS Holds Farewell Ceremony for 62 MBKM Kampus Mengajar Students

UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a farewell ceremony and briefing for 62 students who will participate in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Kampus Mengajar Program. The Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Ir. Dody Ariawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., attended the event to send off the students as they prepare to serve in the program. The ceremony took place in Meeting Room 2 of the dr. Prakosa Rectorate Building, UNS, on Thursday (5/9/2024).

In his remarks, the Vice Rector congratulated the students for successfully passing the selection process and being able to take part in the 8th MBKM Kampus Mengajar Program. He outlined the various benefits students can gain from their participation in the program.

“I hope that all of you who are participating in the Kampus Mengajar can make the most of this program. For students with an educational background, this is an opportunity to hone your teaching skills, while for those from non-education majors, it is a chance to develop soft skills and enhance your social awareness,” Prof. Dody said.

Prof. Dody also expressed his gratitude to the Field Supervising Lecturers (DPL), who will guide the students throughout the program. He urged the Heads of Study Programs (Kaprodi) to support the smooth implementation of the program, which will, in turn, contribute to improving the university’s Key Performance Indicators (IKU).

The MBKM Kampus Mengajar Program will commence on Monday (9/9/2024) and run for the next four months. UNS students will be placed in various schools, ranging from those located around the Solo Raya area to schools as far as Jepara Regency.

This semester marks the 8th year of the MBKM Kampus Mengajar Program. Through this initiative, it is hoped that young people will be cultivated with a greater sense of care for education in Indonesia.

“We are very excited to share our knowledge through this program. We hope that our presence has a positive impact on the schools we are assigned to,” Nabila, one of the Kampus Mengajar participants from the Science Education Program, said.
