Kebumen Regency Government Discusses UNS Campus Development in Kebumen

UNSThe Kebumen Regency Government, led by Kebumen Regent Arif Sugiyanto, S.H., M.H., visited Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. During the visit, the Kebumen Regent’s delegation was welcomed by the Acting Rector of UNS, Dr. Chatarina Muliana, S.H., S.E., M.H.; the Acting Vice Rector for General Affairs and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. E. Muhtar, S.Pd., M.Si.; and the Acting Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Diharjo, S.T., M.T. in the Rector’s Meeting Room, Dr. Prakosa Building UNS, on Thursday (16/5/2024).

During the visit, Regent Arif Sugiyanto, S.H., M.H. held a meeting to discuss the development of a UNS campus in Kebumen Regency. The discussion included the progress and planning stages of the UNS campus development on the former site of Kebumen Hospital.

“Our visit to UNS is to discuss the development of UNS campus in Kebumen. This collaboration is a demonstration of Kebumen Regency Government’s commitment to developing UNS educational facilities in Kebumen,” Arif Sugiyanto explained.

The Kebumen Regency Government fully supports the establishment of Off-Main Campus Study Programs (PSDKU) by UNS in Kebumen. “We hope this idea can be realized soon. We hope the process goes smoothly. On this occasion, we are very pleased to meet directly with the Acting Rector of UNS and the Acting Vice Rectors to communicate and strengthen the collaboration between Kebumen Regency Government and UNS,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Acting Rector of UNS, Dr. Chatarina Muliana, S.H., S.E., M.H., welcomed the visit of the Kebumen Regent and his delegation. “Thank you to the Kebumen Regency Government for being willing to collaborate in efforts to enhance education in Kebumen Regency. UNS is ready to provide Human Resources (HR) and manage the operations of the new campus in Kebumen,” Dr. Chatarina said.

During the visit, Kebumen Regent Arif Sugiyanto, S.H., M.H., accompanied by the Secretary of Kebumen Regency Government, Edi Rianto, S.T., M.T., also discussed strengthening the synergy in community service activities, specifically the UNS Community Service Program (KKN) with Kebumen Regency Government.

The Secretary of Kebumen Regency Government, Edi Rianto, S.T., M.T., conveyed the importance of coordination between the KKN Management Unit of UNS and the Regional Development Planning and Research Agency (Bappeda) of Kebumen Regency regarding KKN activities in Kebumen.

“We hope that community service activities by UNS lecturers and students in Kebumen Regency will continue and improve. We also hope that the UNS KKN activities in Kebumen will continue. With coordination between the KKN Management Unit of UNS and Bappeda of Kebumen Regency, we expect the KKN to be more organized,” Edi Rianto said. *HUMAS UNS*
