Helpful inflammation turned harmful in non-communicable diseases

Lucy V. Norling obtained her PhD at Queen Mary University of London. Her career to date has been shaped by the generous support of Versus Arthritis, enabling a significant training period at Harvard Medical School with Prof. Charles Serhan. She is currently a senior lecturer at Queen Mary University, where her research focuses on the role of pro-resolving lipid mediators and microvesicles in the resolution of inflammation and cardiovascular disease.

Ganesh V. Halade, PhD is working on inflammation-resolution signaling in heart failure in the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences, University of South Florida (USF), Tampa, Florida, USA. As trainee, he worked with Dr. Merry L. Lindsey, PhD, and recipient of Barbara H. Bowman Award, Pittman Scholar Award, and authored/co-authored over 100 publications focuses on inflammation, obesity, cardiac remodeling, and heart failure. Before entering in academic research, he worked in different pharmaceutical companies to develop novel therapeutic targets.
