Weishan Miao, PhD from Tsinghua University, is an associate professor at the School of Journalism and Communication, University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is also affiliated with the Institute of Journalism and Communication, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His research interests lie in the interplay among technology, culture, and society, with a focus on the Global South and a commitment to issues of marginality, inequality, and social justice.

Bin Ai is a professor at the School of Foreign Studies, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai, China. He gained his PhD at Deakin University, Australia, in 2014, and his research interests include applied linguistics, written communication, and intercultural studies.

Xinyu Liao graduated with a B.A. degree (first class hons.) in English language and applied linguistics at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China and is an incoming M.Phil student at the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics, University of Oxford. He is broadly interested in sociolinguistics, documentation, prosody, language contact, and language and identity.
