Response to “an Alternative Metric to Address Limitations of the H-Index”

We have read with great interest the paper published by Seu et al., which describes the relationship between the h-index of abstract authors and the likelihood of subsequent publication.1 We commend Seu et al. on their novel application of this popular metric used to quantify research productivity. Still, we would like to note additional limitations of the h-index and suggest an alternative bibliometric index to compare scholarly output and probability of publication.
