We have read with great interest the paper published by Seu et al., which describes the relationship between the h-index of abstract authors and the likelihood of subsequent publication. 1 Seu M.Y. We commend Seu et al. on their novel application of this popular metric used to quantify research productivity. Still, we would like to note additional limitations of the h-index and suggest an alternative bibliometric index to compare scholarly output and probability of publication.
