Synthesis of an Ammelide-Based Ultra-microporous Cd-MOF for Sensitive Detection of Dichromate Ions

In this study, we present an efficient method for synthesizing ammelide through the oxidation of 5-Azacytosine with hydrogen peroxide, achieving high purity and yield. Using this synthesized ammelide, we constructed a stable, ultramicroporous MOF with Cd(II) ions that maintains structural integrity in boiling water and demonstrates highly sensitive detection of dichromate ions in aqueous solutions with a high Ksv of 2.93×104 M-1. These findings highlight the potential of ammelide as a versatile building block for designing stable and functional MOFs, particularly for environmental sensing applications.
