Albinism, a group of inherited disorders characterized by partial or complete absence of melanin, is associated with an increased risk of dental issues, including enamel defects, caries, and periodontal disease. This review examines the dental challenges faced by individuals with albinism, drawing attention on case studies and recent literature. Affected individuals often experience dental problems such as enamel hypoplasia and increased susceptibility to caries, which are exacerbated by genetic factors impacting enamel development and by psychological and social challenges, including stigma and dental anxiety. Case studies highlight the importance of personalized treatments, preventive measures such as fluoride applications and dental sealants, and psychological support. An integrated approach involving collaboration among dental professionals, dermatologists, and mental health experts is essential for improving oral health and quality of life for these patients. Future research should focus on larger longitudinal studies to better understand dental manifestations associated with albinism and to develop evidence-based guidelines for the dental management of this patient group.
