Correction: A novel and accurate method for estimating umbilical arterial and venous catheter insertion length

In the article, “A novel and accurate method for estimating umbilical arterial and venous catheter insertion length,” by Tambasco et al. (J Perinatol. 2021 Jul;41(7):1633–1637), the authors mistakenly transcribed the umbilical venous catheter insertion length for infants with BW >1500 g as (0.0018 × BW [g]) + 6.52 when it should have been (0.0011 × BW [g]) + 6.52. The correct formula was applied to generate the results in the manuscript as well as to develop the UmbiCalc mobile app (available for free in the App Store (Apple Inc., Cupertino, CA) and Google Play Store (Google, Mountain View, CA)).

Therefore, in the “Materials/Subjects and Methods” section under “Statistical Analyses,” the last sentence of the first paragraph on page 1635 (under Fig. 1) should read “The equation for infants with BW >1500 g was (0.0017 × BW [g]) + 11.85 for UACs and (0.0011 × BW [g]) + 6.52 for UVCs (Fig. 1).”
