Before addressing the several concerns that were stated, we feel that it is important to briefly reiterate the focus of our article.1 As this was a Viewpoint article, we aimed to highlight the issues transgender youth face, summarize the current heterogeneous and often confusing laws and regulations, and provide a framework for physicians to promote sports participation for all children, with an added focus on transgender and gender-diverse youth. We tried to keep the Viewpoint focused and succinct, and therefore acknowledge the limitations of the scope of our article.
