It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear colleague and friend Gabriella Fabbrocini.

Gabriella was Professor and Chairman of the University of Naples, founding board member and a very active author and reviewer of our Journal. But first of all, she was my very best friend, and I will miss forever her smile and the thousands of new pioneering projects we started and completed together.

Gabriella was the ultimate champion for the lived experience. She was a dedicated physician, a scientist, a coach and mentor, an innovator, a driver and she was, most importantly, a dearly loved mother and wife. A friend we know so many of us will miss deeply. While her star may have gone out, her light and its warmth, her call for us to move forward with purpose, never will.

We have been lucky to travel a part of life’s journey with Gabriella. Her memory sustains us. It also reminds us that together we can continue to do good things every day to increase our knowledge and better help our patients.
