Qatar University Announces the Launch of The World Cup Short Story Writer Competition

The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts and Sciences at Qatar University (QU) announced the holding of a short story competition on the topic of (Football World Cup) for female students.

The competition aims to explore the literary talents and creative abilities of female students to enhance them with courses and workshops held for those who wish them, and to direct female students towards writing in the classical language, in addition to creating an atmosphere of positive competition among female students and pushing them to improve their writing and develop their skills on a continuous basis to be able to compete.

Those wishing to participate must meet the following conditions: that the student is the writer of the short story and participate in it in her name, that the short story be innovative, that the subject of the FIFA World Cup and its positive impact on society, the story has not been previously published or participated in competitions The length of the story should not exceed 3000 words and not be less than 1000 words.

The first three winners will be awarded cash vouchers; the first prize (vouchers equivalent to 3000 QR), the second prize (vouchers equivalent to 2000 QR), the third prize (vouchers equivalent to 1000 QR).

Entries should be sent to Dr. Falah Ibrahim Nassif, Chairman of the Student Activities Committee, at the following email: fnaseef@qu.edu.qa. The deadline for receiving entries is November 3, 2022, and the winning stories will be announced on November 13, 2022.
