The physical body is the focus of attention when we speak about adolescence and serious illness. However, there are other bodies to consider: illness and adolescence also call upon familial and cultural bodies. Reflections on the adolescent body have been produced by a longitudinal study which focuses on the dynamics of uncertainty in adolescents who are suffering from cancer. A clinical case will illustrate the action of bodies at different stages of the illness.
