Recent progress in electrochemical rearrangement reaction

The rearrangement reaction is one of the most important transformations in synthetic chemistry. It can start with simple starting materials and construct complex molecules that are difficult to obtain by traditional methods through the cleavage and reconstruction of chemical bonds. Meanwhile, synthetic electrochemistry as a green synthesis method, can avoid using stoichiometric redox reagents, which provides a powerful help for developing green chemistry. In the past decade, many electrochemical-promoted rearrangement reactions have been developed, which shows the wide application of electrochemistry in rearrangement reactions. This review summarizes the application of electrochemistry in rearrangement and covers functional group migration, ring expansion reactions, and selective migratory cyclization reactions.
