Atrial fibrillation is associated with higher first pass effect following thrombectomy for large vessel occlusion: reply to Pillai et al

We read with great interest the original research article by Pillai et al, which investigates the first pass effect (FPE) during endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) in patients with large vessel occlusion strokes, comparing those with atrial fibrillation (AF) to those without AF.1 We found the study’s findings compelling and would like to contribute additional insights and pose pertinent questions.
