Honorary Fellowship for Professor Christopher Lynch

Professor Christopher Lynch has been awarded a prestigious Honorary Fellowship from the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong.

Professor Lynch was honoured at a conferring ceremony in Hong Kong on 17 November 2024. The citation for Professor Lynch highlighted his ‘contributions to the fields of Restorative Dentistry and Dental Education' which have been ‘exemplary and groundbreaking'.

Professor Christopher Lynch is Professor and Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Cork University Dental School & Hospital/University College Cork. The College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong highlighted that ‘throughout his illustrious career, Professor Lynch has excelled in academia and demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities. As the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Dentistry since 2011, and as a Dean at the Faculty of Dentistry, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland since 2023, he has showcased his commitment to advancing research and education in dentistry'.

The College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong also noted that ‘Professor Lynch's involvement in various specialist societies and Royal Colleges is a testament to his dedication to advancing dentistry globally. His editorial responsibilities and external examinerships further highlight his commitment to fostering excellence in dental education and research' and ‘His extensive publication record, research interests, and successful grant funding initiatives underscore his innovative approach to addressing critical issues in dental practice and education issues. His supervision of postgraduate students and recognition from his supervised students reflect his passion for mentoring and nurturing future leaders in the field'.
