QU Health Sector Organized the Second Annual Clinical Faculty Members Appreciation Day

QU Health Sector at Qatar University organized the second annual Clinical Faculty Members Appreciation Day on the 7th of May 2024. This special day serves as a heartfelt tribute to the dedicated clinical faculty who play a vital role in shaping the future of healthcare professionals from QU Health sector students. The event was attended by more than 400 attendees from different healthcare institutions, including Clinical faculty and QU Health stakeholders from Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Healthcare Corporation (PHCC), Sidra Medicine, Aspitar, and other various healthcare institutions across Qatar.

The event aims to appreciate clinical faculty's efforts and reflect the core collaborative endeavors with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Healthcare Corporation (PHCC), Sidra Medicine, and other healthcare institutions across Qatar. It provided a platform to express gratitude and appreciation to these remarkable individuals who selflessly devoted their time and effort to nurturing the next generation of healthcare leaders. The event featured opportunities for collaborations in research and supervising graduate students, clinical teaching and research awards winners’ announcements, recognition certificates, and engaging social interaction.

Dr. Asmaa Al Thani, Vice President of for Health and Medical science, expressed her pride and praised the tremendous efforts of the clinical faculty members who are often practicing professionals and provide invaluable mentorship, guidance, and support to QU Health students in various healthcare disciplines. She added,” The mission of clinical training is undoubtedly critical. Through this, we develop skills captivated by evidence-based experiences and augment our graduates’ competencies in alignment with the global best practices. The clinical faculty's role in mentoring the students and integrating them as active clinicians is one of the essential curricular learning outcomes of QU-Health sector programs. We appreciate the Clinical faculty's dedication to enhancing the clinical experience model of Qatar University students. Their tireless efforts are significant in the lives of individuals and communities.”

Dr. Medhat Askar, Associate Vice President for Clinical Affairs, pointed out the importance of the clinical faculty role in shaping the QU Health learning experience, imparting practical knowledge, and fostering a deep understanding of patient care within the next generation of healthcare professionals. He acknowledged the tireless efforts and significant contributions made by these exceptional faculty members who balance their clinical responsibilities with their commitment to education. This day is an opportunity to express gratitude and recognize their unwavering commitment to QU Health sector learners.

The QU Health Sector is structured with the vision to be the focal point to connect all contributing segments of the Qatari healthcare ecosystem to transform all aspects of our student's learning experience and support our educators to be the most impressive educator version of themselves they aspire to be. In the end, Dr. Askar emphasized that we are all here for one common goal: to work together closely to perfect every aspect of our students’ learning experience like a finely-tuned Swiss clock and that the QU Health sector is here to support just doing that.
