2,981 female students graduate from nine QU colleges as part of the Class of 2024

This year marks the 47th batch of graduates from Qatar University

Qatar University (QU) organized this week a series of graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2024 graduates from nine colleges, the College of Education, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Sharia and Islamic Studies, Engineering, Law, Arts and Sciences, and Business and Economics.

The 47th batch of female students were honored at the QU Sports and Events Complex in six separate ceremonies. This year 2,981 female students graduate from the following academic degrees: bachelor's, diploma, master's, doctorate, and doctor of pharmacy. The ceremonies included graduates of the following semesters: Summer 2023, Fall 2023 and Winter 2024, and those expected to graduate Spring 2024.

As QU graduates its 47th cohort of graduates, the university continues to chronicle a long history spanning decades in which it contributes heavily to Qatar’s development and prosperity, through boosting the labor market with qualified graduates.

During the graduation ceremony for the College of Business and Economics, Prof. Rana Sobh, Dean of the College, honored 543 graduates in the presence of Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) and QU President Dr. Omar Al-Ansari.

Guest of honor, Dr. Hessa Al-Sulaiti, a judge at the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Judicial Council, attended the joint graduation ceremony for the College of Engineering, College of Law and College of Sharia and Islamic Studies. A total of 645 female graduates were recognized. Among them were 329 graduates from the College of Engineering, 233 graduates from the College of Law, and 83 graduates from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies.

In the presence of HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Kawari, President of Qatar National Library, the guest of honor at the ceremony, QU graduated its female students from the College of Arts and Sciences, totaling 1072 graduates from various disciplines of the college.

Dr. Al-Hareth M. Al-Khater, Senior Consultant Physician and the Deputy Medical Director for Clinical Affairs, National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR), attended the graduation ceremony for QU Health as the guest of honor, which included the graduation of 129 students from the College of Health Sciences, 56 students from the College of Pharmacy, and 43 students from the College of Medicine.

Finally, Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al-Naimi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, attended the College of Education graduation ceremony, which saw the graduation of 494 female graduates from various disciplines.
It is worth noting that earlier in the week, QU held separate graduation ceremonies for male graduates and distinguished female students, in the presence of His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Her Highness Consort of HH The Amir Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, respectively.
