ITP and PKP Study Programs at UNS Faculty of Agriculture Receive ASIIN Accreditation Visitation

UNS – The Food Science and Technology (ITP) and Agricultural Extension and Communication (PKP) Programs at the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta received an international accreditation visitation from the Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik (ASIIN). ASIIN is an international accreditation agency from Germany for engineering, mathematics and science, agriculture, and biology disciplines. The visitation took place over two days from Thursday (25/4/2024) to Friday (26/4/2024). The meetings were held at the Ki Hadjar Dewantara Tower UNS.

The assessors present included Prof. Markus Frank from Nuertingen-Geislingen University; Prof. Gerhard Schleining from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna; Dr. Arum Tiyas from Kamada Soy Sauce; Fitria Yasmin Mazaya from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta; and Dr. Daniel Seegers as the ASIIN representative.

The Assessor Team was received by the Acting Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs of UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S., and the Acting Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Business, and Information of UNS, Prof. Dr. Irwan Trinugroho, SE, M.Sc, Ph.D; the Acting Dean of FP UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samanhudi, S.P., M.Si., IPM, ASEAN Eng., along with other Vice Deans and related Program Coordinators. The opening session began with welcoming remarks by the Acting Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs of UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S.

The visitation program started with a meeting with the Program Coordinator Team and representatives from the rectorate, deans, and units within the UNS environment. This was followed by discussions with the Coordinator of the ITP Program at UNS, Prof. Danar Praseptiangga, Ph.D., and the Coordinator of the PKP Program at UNS, Prof. Dr. Suminah. In the afternoon session, the assessment team conducted direct visits to the two programs, laboratories, and supporting units there.

The second day of the ASIIN visitation included agendas with assessors, students, lecturers, and colleagues from the industry and other sectors. The visitation on the second day concluded with a gala dinner attended by the Assessors, the Acting Dean of FP UNS, Vice Deans, and staff of the PKP and ITP programs at UNS. Humas UNS
