47 UNS Teams Qualify for PKM 2024 Funding

UNS – A total of 47 teams from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta have successfully qualified for the Funding Proposal stage of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) for the year 2024. This result was obtained after a series of internal selections conducted by UNS. Subsequently, these teams will realize the proposals that have been approved for funding in a research project.

The distribution data for the PKM 2024 funding approval shows that 30 proposals for Exact Sciences PKM Research has the highest number. Other schemes include five proposals for Entrepreneurship PKM, four proposals for Social Humanities Research (RSH) PKM, three proposals for Creativity PKM (KC), three proposals for Community Service PKM, one proposal for Applied Science and Technology Creation (PI) PKM, and one proposal for Constructive Idea Video (VGK) PKM.

Furthermore, the distribution data of the faculties for PKM 2024 shows that the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) is the most funded faculty with 13 proposals. This is followed by 11 proposals from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), 9 proposals from the Faculty of Engineering (FT), 5 proposals from the Faculty of Agriculture (FP), 3 proposals each from the Faculty of Psychology (Fapsi) and the Vocational School (SV), and 1 proposal each from the Faculty of Law (FH), the Faculty of Arts and Design, and the Faculty of Information Technology and Data Science (Fatisda).

At this stage, each proposal in PKM is funded by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa), Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemendikbudristek RI). According to the General Guidelines of PKM 2024, proposals that pass the set standard grade will be funded by Belmawa ranging from 6 million to 10 million Indonesian Rupiah. Universities are required to provide additional funding for proposals that qualify, with a maximum funding amount of 2 million Indonesian Rupiah in cash and/or in kind. Additionally, they can also receive additional funding from other institutions with a maximum funding amount of 1 million Indonesian Rupiah in cash and/or in kind.

The Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau of UNS, Iwan Wisnu Anggono, S.S., M.Si., stated that these proposals had previously undergone selection at the UNS Student Scientific Week (PIM). The university will continue to provide assistance until the Progress Assessment of PKM Implementation (PKP2) stage. He hopes that UNS students can give their best and have an impact on increasing the number of teams qualifying for the 37th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) in 2024.

“Our hope is that the number of teams qualifying for PIMNAS increases from these 47. The target is to achieve gold medals in the presentation and poster categories,” Iwan Wisnu, M.Si. said.

UNS has conducted a series of substantive and administrative reviews. A total of 480 proposals were then declared eligible for the UNS PIM. The distribution data for the schemes eligible for UNS PIM shows that 171 proposals for Exact Sciences PKM Research are the highest. Other schemes include 71 proposals for Social Humanities Research (RSH) PKM, 64 proposals for Entrepreneurship PKM, 54 proposals for Creativity PKM (KC), 40 proposals for Scientific Article (AI) and Written Futuristic Ideas (GFT) PKM, 23 proposals for Community Service PKM, 7 proposals for Innovative Works (KI) and Applied Science and Technology Creation (PI) PKM, and 3 proposals for Constructive Idea Video (VGK) PKM.

Following the announcement of the qualification of several teams at this stage, UNS held an inaugural meeting and provided socialization for the PKM 2024 Funding. The First Meeting was held at the Suhardi Hall, Building 3 of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) on Tuesday (30/4/2024). This event featured Dr. Ir. Dewi Handayani, S.T., M.T., who served as a judge at PIMNAS.

In the previous edition, 17 UNS PKM teams qualified for the 36th PIMNAS 2023 held at Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad). UNS won 1 gold medal and 1 bronze medal in the poster category. The gold medal was obtained by the team with the title “Traditional Game Benthik as a Cooperative Play Modification in Overcoming Sibling Rivalry in Children in Bojonegoro Regency“. This achievement was made by the UNS PKM team from the Faculty of Psychology (Fapsi). Meanwhile, the bronze medal was obtained by the team with the title “Gress Synthesis Carbon Quantum Dot (CQDs) from Spoiled Soy Milk with ZnO for Photodegradation of Malachite Green Textile Dyes“.
