Case report of a primary ectopic extradural and extraspinal meningioma of the brachial plexus

Meningiomas are the most common primary tumors of the central nervous system, making up one-third of all tumors [1]. Ectopic, extradural and extraspinal meningiomas make up 2% of all meningiomas described in the literature and are mostly located in subcutaneous tissues of the face in the periorbital area, scalp, neck or even the paraspinal region [2], [3], [4]. Only a few, rare cases of primary ectopic extraspinal meningiomas in the brachial plexus have been reported [5], [6], [7]. This case report features a rare primary ectopic extradural and extraspinal meningioma of the brachial plexus.

This case report has been generated by following the SCARE Criteria [8].
