This study significantly contributed to this review by performing multivariable analysis of sex differences in outcomes of heart transplant patients via a prospective cohort study of more than 49,000 patients. Their study found that male gender was a risk factor CAV, but when this finding was subjected to meta-analysis, it failed to meet significance in our study.
