The World Journal of Surgery is excited to announce that Dr. Diamantis Tsilimigras has joined our editorial leadership team as visual abstract editor, working to enhance the visibility of our authors’ science via social media. Dr. Tsilimigras is a General Surgery Resident at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He received his MD degree (summa cum laude) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, in 2017. He trained in both Europe (St James’s University Hospital, Leeds, UK; Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College, London, UK; and University College London Hospitals London, UK) and the USA (Lankenau Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA, USA) before holding his current position.

Dr. Tsilimigras’ clinical interests include General Surgery and Surgical Oncology. His research focuses on clinical outcomes in surgical oncology, mainly hepatopancreatobiliary surgery, and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques in cancer research. He has published more than 330 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as The Lancet, Nature Reviews Disease Primers, Annals of Surgery, JAMA Surgery, British Journal of Surgery, Annals of Surgical Oncology, and others. His work has more than 5000 citations, and has served as a Reviewer for more than 25 scientific journals. Dr. Tsilimigras is an Associate Editor for one scientific journal and an Editorial Board member for five scientific journals.
