Keitaro Takahashi et al. Nasal breathing is superior to oral breathing when performing and undergoing transnasal endoscopy: a randomized trial

Transnasal endoscopy is being used increasingly worldwide. In this randomized study including 198 patients, nasal breathing during transnasal endoscopy was found to be superior to oral breathing by those performing and undergoing transnasal endoscopy, with better visibility of the upper-middle pharynx and improved endoscopic operability and patient tolerance
