To the Editor We read with interest the article by Daneshjou et al1 regarding consensus guidelines for image-based artificial intelligence (AI) in dermatology. As centralized guidance for developing fair, safe, and high-quality AI from the US Food and Drug Administration is still in progress, individual specialties must establish internal standards for AI development and evaluation. Although the authors offer commendable guidelines, we contend that greater emphasis on patient consent must be considered.
