Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is causing drastic changes in social life, such as the change in work and study activities from face-to-face to online. The increasing use of video conferencing raises concerns about fatigue caused by video conferencing, which is termed “zoom fatigue”. This study aimed to describe zoom fatigue the factors that contribute to it during the COVID-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional design was used. The sample in this study was 376 people. The data were gathered by completing a 45-question online questionnaire. The data about zoom fatigue and the factors that affect it were analyzed by univariate, bivariate (Chi-Square) and multivariate (binomial logistic regression). The result is that 68.6% of respondents experienced zoom fatigue at a moderate to high level. Respondents complained about several symptoms of activity, motivation, and physical weakness after using the video platform. The conclusion is that zoom fatigue is real and the frequency of using video platforms is related to the incidence of zoom fatigue.
