Sphenopalatine Artery Pseudoaneurysm Managed with Endovascular Embolization: A Case Report

Epistaxis caused by Sphenopalatine artery (SpA) pseudoaneurysms are rare and have been reported after trauma, infection, radiation, surgery and tumor invasion. Surgical ligation of SpA pseudoaneurysms have traditionally been done to control epistaxis. However, endovascular embolisation offers a minimally invasive technique to treat them. We report a case of a 28 year old male with post-traumatic SpA pseudoaneurysm. The patient was managed by endovascular embolization. Epistaxis ceased after embolization and the patient was discharged in stable condition.
