Mohammed VI University of Sciences and Health (UM6SS) is the first multidisciplinary university in Morocco specializing in the field of health. It operates as a non-profit public utility institution and serves as a hub for health education and research in Morocco and also extends its influence to various African countries. The university collaborates closely with two International University Hospitals: Cheikh Khalifa Hospital and Mohammed VI Hospital.

The Pan-Arabian Research Society of Gynecologic Oncology (PARSGO), consisting of more than 400 dedicated members with a professional interest in gynecological cancers throughout the Arab world, is dedicated to advancing gynecologic oncology research and healthcare services for Arabic women worldwide. Their priorities include enhancing healthcare, preventing cancer, early detection, precise diagnosis, efficient management, and providing comprehensive cancer care and empowerment for Arab women in the region and globally.

In this context, a collaborative partnership was formed with the onco-gynecology teams of Mohammed VI University of Sciences and Health and PARSGO e.V (Figure 1). The primary objective was to discuss complex gynecologic oncology cases, ensuring that treatment decisions align with international recommendations. This collaborative effort, emphasizing a multidisciplinary approach and drawing on the expertise of both teams, is dedicated to optimizing patient care. It reaffirms a commitment to remaining at the forefront of medical advancements and providing the best possible care for Moroccan patients in dealing with gynecological cancers.

In 2018, the collaborative venture made significant headway in its mission. The meetings were scheduled to occur every third Friday of the month, and were conducted via an online platform. Since its inception, we have presented over 60 cases of gynecological cancer . Notably, many of these cases were referred for a second opinion, emphasizing the worth and efficacy of their cooperative approach in addressing intricate medical cases.

Considering the academic orientation of UM6SS, these meetings offered an academic environment, actively engaging students and residents, thereby enhancing their educational experience.

Patient consent and privacy are the cornerstones of this fruitful collaboration. In preparation for the multidisciplinary consultation meeting, the referring physician plays a pivotal role by proactively seeking the patient’s consent to present their case, including the sharing of radiological data. This approach is firmly based on a deep respect for the importance of patient privacy and the fundamental principle of acquiring informed consent.

Once consent is obtained, the patient’s case is presented, involving a comprehensive review of their medical history, physical examination findings, an analysis of various radiological assessments, and insights from anatomopathological evaluations. The meeting was attended by gynecologists, onco-radiotherapists, medical oncologists, radiologists, and anatomopathologists from both institutions.

The core aim of this thorough presentation is to provide the multidisciplinary team with a comprehensive grasp of the patient’s condition. With these detailed insights, the team can collectively formulate an informed and suitable treatment plan customized to the patient’s specific requirements, upholding the highest standards of care and patient well-being. Subsequently, the decision is deliberated with the patient, actively involving them in the process.

Once the treatment has been administered, the case is re-discussed within the PARSGO team to assess its progression and evolution. This follow-up discussion helps to monitor and evaluate the patient’s response to treatment and make any necessary adjustments to the care plan.

Furthermore, the collaboration enables discussions with experts from Arab countries concerning the present landscape of onco-gynecology and the perspectives specific to Morocco in this domain (Figure 2).
