CNS tuberculosis and peripheral medium vessel vasculitis: A rare presentation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection

Abstract

A 7 year old boy presented with acute onset of irritability, agitation and restlessness followed by gradual onset of pain in left elbow and knee, diminished pulsations in medium sized arteries of left upper and lower limbs and dry gangrene involving digits of left upper and lower limbs. He was diagnosed as a case of multiple tuberculoma with stage 1 tubercular meningitis with peripheral vasculitis affecting medium sized vessels. The child improved with Antitubercular therapy.
