A 66-year-old man presented with a 15-day history of lower abdominal pain and diarrhea. He had no medical history of constipation and denied taking any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Physical examination showed that his abdomen was soft. Laboratory tests revealed that his hemoglobin, albumin, and C-reactive protein were within normal limits.
