M.Sc., Leader of the UNS Faculty of Medicine, along with the staff.

On this occasion, Prof. Irwan reported several things to all delegates. The construction of the UNS Hospital was completed and opened in 2016. This project was funded by SFD, IDB, and the Government of Indonesia.

Almost all project evaluation indicators have been achieved post-project related to their effectiveness and impact. Prof. Irwan described some of the achievements of these indicators, such as the number of 200 beds that have exceeded the target. Doctors at UNS Hospital have held 62 short-term training sessions over the past ten years. Apart from that, UNS Hospital also contributed to supporting the graduation of 132 master’s students and 59 doctoral students. This is also supported by the availability of online learning facilities and books on health services.

There are currently 531 doctors and medical staff at UNS Hospital, while the number of professors and teaching staff is 230. Both were far more than the target. A total of 47 biomedical clinics and departments have also exceeded the target number. During construction, this project contributed to creating 580 jobs.

UNS Hospital has received two prestigious awards. First, it received a ‘Plenary’ Accreditation Rating which is the highest rating given by the Hospital Accreditation Commission (KARS) in December 2022. Second, the UNS Hospital was designated as a basic education hospital by the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) in January 2023.

UNS Hospital is progressing in almost all aspects of service. For example, more than 124,000 outpatients will receive medical services at UNS Hospital in 2023. Much higher than in 2017, which was around 33,000 outpatients.

Also it is for the number of inpatients and emergency patients. UNS Hospital initially only had 50 beds, but now it has more than 200 beds. UNS Hospital also played an active role in handling the Covid-19 pandemic. From 2020 to 2022, this hospital treated more than 4,700 Covid-19 patients.

“UNS Hospital has set its vision to realize UNS Hospital as a center for education, research and health services with an international reputation, based on community medicine and the nation’s cultural values,” Prof. Irwan said.

To uns.ac.id, Prof. Jamal as the Rector of UNS gave his response after receiving the delegation. The visit of the SFD delegation and the government was part of the monitoring and evaluation agenda for the construction of the UNS Hospital. He said that each delegation was satisfied with the performance and achievements of UNS Hospital.

“In principle, they are satisfied with what is in the hospital because this is actually what is being funded by the IDB. (The progress) is good,” Prof. Jamal said. Humas UNS
