Tiffany Le just keeps piling the accomplishments onto an already historic year.

The sophomore punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Wednesday after shooting a 66 (-6) in round three of the Pullman Regional at the Palouse Ridge, finishing third overall while going 14-under par. She entered the week as the third Highlander ever to appear in NCAA Regionals, but will leave as the first in program history to compete in the NCAA Championships.

Le, who was named the program’s first Big West Women’s Golfer of the Year, finished in Pullman with her second sub-70 round of the Regional — the first of which in round one set a new program record for lowest round — and enters nationals with eight rounds on the year in the 60s as well as 18 rounds at or under par.

She was bogey-free for all 18 holes on Wednesday, including shooting for par on a first hole that had her number in rounds one and two. Le birdied four and eight to be 2-under on the day at the turn, as well as tied for fourth overall with the next closest individual — Washington’s Camille Boyd — at 10-under par.

The two were neck-and-neck through 17, as both stayed bogey-free while birdying 15. Le capped off her round with a dramatic finish on 18, holing out a 30-yard pitch for eagle.

Le will compete in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship in DuPont, Wash., next before heading to Grayhawk Golf Club for the NCAA Championships from ay 19-24. Stay tuned to GoHighlanders.com for more information.
