3,147 Female Students Graduate from Nine QU Colleges as Part of the Class of 2023

This year marks the 46th batch of graduates from Qatar University

Qatar University (QU) organized this week a series of graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2023 graduates from nine colleges, the College of Education, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Sharia and Islamic Studies, Engineering, Law, Arts and Sciences, and Business and Economics.

The 46th batch of female students were honored at the QU Sports and Events Complex in six separate ceremonies. This year 3,147 female graduates graduate from the following academic degrees: bachelor's, diploma, master's, doctorate, and doctor of pharmacy. The ceremonies included graduates of the following semesters: Summer 2022, Fall 2022 and Winter 2023, and those expected to graduate Spring 2023.

As QU graduates its 46th cohort of graduates, the university continues to chronicle a long history spanning decades in which it contributes heavily to Qatar’s development and prosperity, through boosting the labor market with qualified graduates.

During the graduation ceremony for the College of Education, HE Dr. Hessa Bint Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Dean of the College, honored 504 female graduates in the presence of HE Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education and Higher Education and QU President Dr. Hassan Al-Derham.

Guest of honor Dr. Mariam Ali Abdul Malik, Managing Director, Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) attended the QU Health graduation ceremony, which included 170 female graduates from the College of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy and College of Medicine.

HE Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology attended the third graduation ceremony, which included 291 graduates from the College of Engineering, 317 graduates from the College of Law, and 105 graduates from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies.

In the presence of QU President Dr. Hassan bin Rashid Al-Derham, and the two guests of honor: Dr. Sheikha bint Jabor Al-Thani and Dr. Hala Al-Essa, President of the University of Calgary in Qatar, QU graduated 1042 female students from the College of Arts and Sciences, who were honored in two periods, morning and evening.

Yesterday, the individual college ceremonies concluded with the graduation of 718 College of Business and Economics students, in the presence of guest of honor Sh. Hamad Bin Jabor Bin Jassim Al-Thani, Chairman of the Advisory Council at the College.

It is worth noting that earlier in the week, QU held separate graduation ceremonies for male graduates and distinguished female students, in the presence of His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Her Highness Consort of HH The Amir Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, respectively.
