UNS – The leaders of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta made good use of the moment after the Eid al-Fitr 1444 H holiday by strengthening relationships with the entire UNS extended family. This gathering activity carries the theme “Dengan Spirit Idulfitri Kita Perkokoh Persaudaraan dan Persatuan” (With the Spirit of Eid Al-Fitr We Strengthen Brotherhood and Unity). The event, which was attended by UNS leaders and all academicians, was held offline at the G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium UNS and broadcasted live via YouTube Universitas Sebelas Maret on Tuesday (2/5/2023).

The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum said that friendly gatherings like this are a routine tradition for UNS which are carried out after Eid Al-Fitr.

“Nevertheless, this gathering activity still has a positive meaning that must be cared for and preserved, which is to become a momentum to reconnect our spiritual powers which are always oriented towards goodness, truth, beauty and peace,” Prof. Jamal said in his speech.

Furthermore, Prof. Jamal also invited UNS academics to take advantage of this moment by forgiving each other and strengthening togetherness. As in Javanese philosophy, the term was known as “Jembar Segarane“.

 “It means to be a human being with a big heart and be able to forgive everyone’s mistakes. By forgiving other people’s mistakes, it means we have forgiven ourselves,” Prof. Jamal continued.

Prof. Jamal added that forgiving each other can always provide light as a guide so that we can become forgiving people, who will bring shade, peace and harmony in UNS. May Allah SWT always provide light as a guide so that we become human beings who are generous forgivers and humble apologizers.

“And hopefully the spirit of Lebaran and Eid al-Fitr can become a momentum to cultivate forgiveness to anyone who has made mistakes and oversights of the UNS, for Indonesia and all human beings who are in harmony, peace and tranquility,” Prof. Jamal concluded.

Then the gathering event was continued with a lecture by Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Rofiq, M.A as Professor from the Univesitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Walisongo Semarang and also as the Vice Head of the Central Java MUI. Prof. Rofiq explained the lecture about the Wisdom of Halalbihalal. Humas UNS
