Imagery training for Malaysian paralympics athletes - an important step towards sports equity

Background

The Paralympic Council Malaysia (PCM) is a non-governmental organisation that was started in 1989 to help people with disabilities in Malaysia get involved in parasports. Under the Sports Development Act (Amended) 2018, a government-recognised organisation called PCM was given the job of giving Malaysian para-athletes the chance to compete in parasport events on a national and international level. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has designated PCM as the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) for Malaysia. The Paralympic Games, which are also called the Games of the Paralympiad, are a series of international multisport competitions held every year for athletes with physical disabilities like missing limbs, uneven leg lengths, short height, hypertonia, ataxia, athetosis, vision impairment and intellectual disability. Every year, more than 20 paralympic athletes compete in 9 paralympic sports, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boccia, Cycling, Powerlifting, Swimming, Table tennis and Wheelchair Tennis
