Schwannomas that originate from sacral roots are relatively rare, which makes it difficult for neurosurgeons to acquire experience in the management of these peripheral nerve tumors [1]. However, the management of sacral schwannomas can be successfully carried out by gynecologist surgeons who routinely manage gynecological disease involving deep parametria, sacral roots or sciatic nerves, such as severe deep endometriosis or advanced gynecological cancers. We report a didactic video presenting the principles of complete excision of sacral schwannoma using a minimally invasive approach with robotic assistance.
