Availability of flexible learning opportunities has had a vital importance in recent years. Flexible learning is described as online learning that enables access to education at any time and place. Web-based courses, online discussion forums, virtual classrooms and online simulations can be listed as examples of flexible learning (Elbasuony et al., 2018, Opeyemi et al., 2019). Online education can be applied in nursing schools due to various problems such as inadequacy of classrooms, lack of clinical area, students’ accommodation problems and the pandemic. Many developed countries included online education in nursing in their curricula (Pangeni, 2016, Elbasuony et al., 2018, Singh and Masango, 2020). However, there is no standard specific to nursing education and each instructor uses a program that s/he deems appropriate. Educators should ensure active participation of students by using student-centered applications in online education (Gaston and Lynch, 2019, Bonk, 2016, de Mello et al., 2018).
