Many pediatric ICU beds reallocated to adults during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic have not been given back (“Hospital Beds for Children: A Shrinking Number and Poorly Distributed,” In the News, February). Children in need of ICU beds are being flown hours away for care. Full pediatric EDs, not enough beds, and quick turnovers are the perfect storm.
