Soft Launching Journal Mandarinable, PBM UNS to Aim Scopus Indexed

UNS — The Mandarin Language Center (PBM) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta released its new journal, Mandarinable on Saturday (11/3/2023). The soft launching was on the 4th anniversary of PMB UNS, as well as to introduce its partners Xihua University, who were present in the Mangkunegaran Room UNS Inn. Journal Mandarinable focuses on a wide range of issues including Chinese Studies, literature, culture and journalism. In its first edition, Mandarinable was published online and printed version in 2022.

According to the Manager of the Journal Mandarinable, Rudiansyah, S.S., M.Hum., this year’s PBM UNS anniversary is the right moment to introduce the journal Mandarinable. After going through challenges in the process, finally this journal that focuses on Chinese studies can be released. “Hopefully, in its journey later, this young journal can implement the Tri Dharma of tertiay education nationally and globally. It’s not an easy job, it needs support and consistency in its implementation,” Rudiansyah said.

Rudiansyah hopes that the journal Mandarinable can continue to develop in the future in realizing the internationalization of UNS. “This journal is also expected to have an impact on the wider community and become a source related to literature, philology, history and journalism in Indonesia, China and globally,” he said.

On the same occasion, the Head of Journal Development Implementation Unit UNS, Dr. Mujiyo, represented by his assistant, Akas Anggita, S.P., said that the journal Mandarinable was expected to be indexed by Scopus. “There was message from Dr. Mujiyo that this journal has been directed from the start to be indexed by Scopus. So that maybe in 2 or 3 years it will be submitted to Scopus,” he said.

Having the opportunity to meet directly with Xihua University, his party also wants to collaborate in terms of research publications. Considering that UNS already has a number of Scopus indexed journals in various fields, starting from Agriculture, Law, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and others. “So we hope that cooperation will not only be in the field of research collaboration, but also work together regarding publication. Maybe the results of research by researchers in China can be published in our journals. And our articles can also be published in journals of Xihua University,” Akas Anggita stated. Humas UNS
