Orbital cystic lymphangioma diagnosed during an ulcerative colitis flare-up in an adult woman: Association or coincidence?

Cystic lymphangioma (CL) is a tumor known for its slow progression and occurrence at an early age [1]. It is usually located in the neck, the axilla, groin, and sacral area, yet, the orbital region remains less common [2]. To date, several hypotheses were established to explain tumor pathogenesis; nevertheless, it has not been elucidated yet. CL clinical presentations are various and could mimic other orbital tumors or pseudotumors [3]. Treatment strategies can differ depending on the tumor's presentation [4].

We report a potential association between orbital CL and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in an adult woman based on similarities in their pathogenesis.
