Drug-based therapy for advanced adenoid cystic carcinoma: Current landscape and challenges based on an overview of registered clinical trials

Vivian Petersen Wagner: DDS, PhD in Oral Pathology and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow. Dr. Wagner is currently a lecturer at The School of Clinical Dentistry at The University of Sheffield. Her research focuses on salivary gland tumors, head and neck pathology and targeted therapies.

Renata Ferrarotto: MD, Clinical Fellow in Medical Oncology and Thoracic/Head and Neck Medical Oncology. Dr. Ferrarotto is an Associate Professor and Director of Head and Neck Oncology. She is involved with patient care and clinical and translational research. Her work focuses on clinical development of new personalized cancer therapies, with a particular interest in salivary gland cancers.

Pablo Agustin Vargas: DDS, MSc, PhD in Oral Pathology and FRCPath (The Royal College of Pathologists-UK). Dr. Vargas is a Professor at the University of Campinas and Extraordinary Professor at University of Pretoria-South Africa. He is a diagnostic pathologist of oral lesions in Piracicaba and his main research fields are molecular pathology of salivary gland lesions, cysts and odontogenic tumors and oral cancer.

Manoela Domingues Martins: DDS, PhD in Oral Pathology. Dr. Martins is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and Professor of the Post-Graduate Program in Oral Medicine and Pathology at the University of Campinas. Her research interests include oral wound healing, oral mucositis, deregulated pathways in oral cancer and target therapies.

Colin D. Bingle: BSc, PhD. Professor Bingle is a Professor of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology in the Department of Infection, Immunity and Cardiovascular Disease, University of Sheffield. His research interests include molecular basis of cell type specific gene expression, particularly the regulation, structure, expression and function of pulmonary epithelial genes.

Lynne Bingle: BSc, PhD. Dr Bingle is a Reader in the Academic Unit of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, School of Clinical Dentistry, University of Sheffield. Her research interests include the role and regulation of epithelial secretory proteins, the development of 3D in vitro model systems to study these proteins in airway epithelium. She has also developed 3D models to study tumourigenesis in salivary gland cancer by introducing novel fusion genes often found in these glandular tumors.
