This issue of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Clinics of North America is authored by gynecologic radiology experts and covers a wide range of pathologic conditions and topics. The first article focuses on the anatomical MR appearance of the ovaries in patients of all ages. A range of adnexal developmental anomalies and variants are then presented, followed by a dedicated article on fallopian tubes. A detailed discussion of ovarian neoplasms, including benign, borderline, malignant, and germ cell, and sex-cord stromal lesions then follows.

An article dedicated to O-RADS MRI reviews the lexicon and classification system of these aforementioned neoplasms. The imaging appearance of metastatic disease to the adnexa is then discussed as are imaging findings of acute adnexal pathology condition, adnexal endometriosis, and mimics of adnexal pathology condition. Characterization and risk stratification of many of these entities requires excellent MR technique and image acquisition, which are summarized last (as we are referring to an article here).

We would like to thank all our contributing authors for their well-written articles and beautiful imaging examples. We are incredibly grateful for their time, commitment, and expertise on this topic. We would also like to thank our gynecologic oncology colleagues and all the members of the UM Gynecologic Oncology tumor board, who we have learned so much from over the years. In addition, we thank our dedicated MR imaging technologists, who are always willing to troubleshoot with us to optimize our exams. We are incredibly appreciative of the editorial staff at Elsevier for their guidance, support, and patience throughout this process as well as Dr. Suresh Mukherji and Dr. Lynne Steinbach for inviting us to edit this important issue. Last, yet most importantly, we thank our family for their continued support and encouragement. We hope that you will find this issue to be enjoyable and informative and that it allows you to more easily and accurately interpret adnexal MR images.
