Psychology Chapter of the Qatar University Alumni Association Marks its First Anniversary

The Qatar University Alumni Association's Psychology Chapter celebrated its first anniversary. The purpose of the event was to showcase the Chapter's greatest successes from its inaugural year, raise psychological awareness through the participation of numerous institutions in the ceremony program, and emphasize the significance of mental health.

Many different bodies working to provide psychological services participated in the ceremony, such as psychiatry at Hamad Medical Corporation, Al-Shafallah Center, Al-Sanabel Medical Center and a specialized center for consultations and research.

The Chapter collaborates with a number of organizations through partnerships to develop training programs, including the Association of Psychological Sciences in Jordan and a specialized center for consulting and research in Qatar. Many experts and significant figures from various state institutions attended the ceremony.

The ceremony included many segments which aimed at spreading awareness on psychological culture and providing an opportunity for all members of society to reach specialists and institutions, as the psychology Chapter seeks to be a party that brings together all those interested in the psychological field.

In her statement on this occasion, Roaa Moustafa, President of Psychology Chapter, and a clinical psychologist: “The branch is making many efforts to reach the largest number of psychology graduates at Qatar University. This chapter was launched in October 2021, during this year, he presented many activities for graduates of the psychology major, as well as training programs and periodic meetings with them to exchange experiences and knowledge that would enhance the relationship between graduates and enriching scientific interest.”

Nermin Nader, Member of the Psychology Chapter: "The event of the first anniversary of the chapter of the Psychology Association was to tell a story about a year in which numerous accomplishments were made. To tell the story of two girls who dreamt and saw their dream come true. The lovely celebration offered us new hope by sharing a variety of personal and social experiences. The numerous psychiatrists who attended this event and contributed their knowledge of psychiatry and mental health were a wonderful addition to this lovely gathering.”
Amna Al-Jaber, A psychology student at Qatar University, said: "The event was one of the most beautiful events that I participated in organizing. I enjoyed and benefited from many things, and I also thank God for the success of the event."

It is worth noting that the chapter presented an exclusive presentation of a social experiment that it produced with Realitz Productions, which was filmed during the reunion event that was organized in March at the beginning of this year, and this experience will be shown on social media platforms in the coming days.
